AI Table Tennis: B1 Is Redefining What Sports Content Can Be

Freshly launched and built without RNG or scripted outcomes, B1 (Be One) AI Table Tennis is now live. CCO Max Sevostianov and CTO Michael Cheremuhin unpack the business case, the tech behind the product, and what it can actually change for sportsbook operators.

The CCO Perspective: A New Commercial Opportunity for Sportsbook Operators

What market opportunity convinced B1 that now was the right time to launch AI Table Tennis?

Max Sevostianov:
The market signal was real. Table tennis already had massive round-the-clock demand. And a supply problem nobody had solved. But that gap existed for years. What changed is that the technology caught up.

Simulating a match well enough that odds move like a real game, not a random spin, takes serious modelling. A few years ago, it wasn't good enough. Once we could build that with confidence, launching stopped being a bet. It became a question of timing.

That's the real product story. We weren't chasing a trend. We were closing a gap between what operators needed and what the technology could finally deliver. Real table tennis gives you 24/7 action, but drags in leagues you can't fully vet. Old-school virtuals give you control, but feel like a slot machine with a scoreboard. AI Table Tennis was the first product that could offer both. Live-feeling markets. Full control over integrity. Because the simulation was finally solid enough to carry it.

That combination, proven demand and mature technology, is what makes now the right moment.

How does AI Table Tennis create value for both operators and players?

Max Sevostianov:
For operators, it’s about control. There are no cancellations, no dependency on obscure federations and no exposure to match-fixing scandals. But it’s also a branding asset. Because the matches are generated, operators can customize the content with their own brand, players, arenas and even tournaments — and use it as owned acquisition content in a market where paid gambling advertising is heavily restricted across Google, Meta and app stores.

For players, the appeal is what made table tennis betting popular in the first place: constant action and fast-resolving live markets, but without the same integrity risks. Trust here isn’t just a promise — it’s built into the architecture.

The CTO Perspective: Technical Architecture Behind AI Table Tennis

What makes AI Table Tennis fundamentally different from RNG-based mechanics?

Michael Cheremuhin:

The main difference is that the result comes from the match itself. Our AI agents do not follow a scripted rally or act out a result generated in advance. They make decisions continuously, from individual shot selection to the broader way they play each point. The match develops naturally through the interaction between those decisions.

We also keep the game engine and our automated trading completely separate. The trading system receives no preview, hidden signal, or hint about what the agents will do next. It has to read and price the match as it unfolds. In other words, our trading does not get the answer key.

Nobody knows the result in advance, including us. That makes trading more demanding, but it also gives members something they can genuinely follow and enjoy as a live sporting contest.

How does AI Table Tennis achieve real-time odds updates in under 50 milliseconds?

Michael Cheremuhin:

There is no single magic optimization behind it. The system was designed around one simple rule: fast content cannot wait in line.

Each AI sports stream runs independently and is processed in parallel. Our trading tools were built to handle many simultaneous matches without making one stream wait for another. This keeps the path from a change in the game to a new price short and predictable, even as the number of events grows.

That architecture comes from our team’s experience with fast betting content. We know latency is not just a technical metric. It is part of the product experience. In AI Table Tennis, the game can move on before slow odds arrive, so sub-second updates were a design requirement from day one. Table Tennis does not wait for infrastructure to catch up, so we made sure ours can keep pace.

Beyond the Old Rules of AI Sports & The Problems B1 AI Table Tennis Was Built to Solve

Are there specific pain points you believe AI Table Tennis solves particularly well?

Max Sevostianov:

There are three big ones. First, the late-night hours. When it’s 3 a.m. in Europe, real table tennis may still be running somewhere, but often in lower-tier leagues that can be harder to trust. AI Table Tennis fills that gap with reliable, always-available content.

Second, match-fixing. In real sports, players can be influenced to manipulate results and we’ve seen leagues suspended because of it. With AI Table Tennis, there’s simply no player to bribe.

Third, keeping the numbers stable. When odds start behaving unpredictably, some providers respond by limiting how much players can bet. Our approach is to fix the underlying model instead, so the odds behave as they should without relying on betting caps.

What misconception about AI-generated sports would you most like to change?

Max Sevostianov:
The biggest misconception is that AI-generated sports are simply old RNG virtuals with a new look. Classic virtual sports are essentially a random number generator in a jersey and that has shaped how the whole category is perceived.

AI Table Tennis works differently. It doesn’t draw outcomes from a random table. It simulates match dynamics shaped by real playing patterns. So we don’t see it as a better-looking version of traditional virtuals. It’s a different category altogether.
